Apex will provide production services for all PLOS journals leveraging its web-based, production management system, ProTrak™. ProTrak integrates global teams and provides a collaborative work space for PLOS, Apex, and authors to manage their work and track progress in real-time.

ProTrak, combined with Apex’s advanced XML-based workflow, TrueXML™, enables PLOS to substantially accelerate “time-to-market” for its online publications. In addition, PLOS will leverage PACE™, Apex’s user-friendly technology that gives authors the ability to easily check and enhance graphics prior to article submission.
