Client:
A leading provider of comprehensive, enriched and timely bibliographic data worldwide. The company provides a range of bibliographic data services to booksellers, publishers and librarians around the world. Their database features millions of unique ISBNs for English-language books published worldwide, providing a single source of rich data for books and other published media.

Strategic Opportunity:
The Client recently approached Apex CoVantage to convert electronic source files containing descriptive text to stylized long/short description requirements. They sought a partner capable of creating a system that delivered timely, predictable production timelines and knew Apex could meet all of their needs based on previous work Apex had done for them.

Key Challenge:
The Client had a backlog of nearly 100,000 records that they needed converted.

Apex CoVantage Solution:
Apex was able to enhance the production system to eliminate work on duplicate records, which enabled them to handle the source overflow and unpredictable batch volumes and saved the Client over $50,000 on their initial batch of backlog records. Apex was able to convert the backlog within six months and also processed an additional 50,000 records in the next month.

Result:
Apex was able to accomplish this quick turnaround with efficient and effective training plans which helped the editors to quickly reach their productivity targets while, at the same time, maintain acceptable quality standards. Since the inception of the work Apex has performed for the Client there have been no rejects or rework needed and Apex has consistently maintained on-time delivery schedules to the Client.
