Global Newspaper Initiative
More than any other medium, newspapers serve to record the daily lives of a people and the world around them. But in many countries, the rich cultural narration that has been recorded in historical newspapers is in danger of being lost to future generations because of the cost inherent in digital archival.

The Global Newspaper Initiative was formed in response to the daunting task of preserving these irreplaceable collections. The mission of the Global Newspaper Initiative is to act as a catalyst for newspaper preservation and digitization in countries whose cultures are the least understood and least able to fund newspaper digitization.

Apex Newspaper Advisory Board
The Global Newspaper Initiative will be directed by an Advisory Board whose members are recognized experts, luminaries, and thought-leaders who recognize the power of these ideas and share the aspirations of the Initiative. The Advisory Board will develop and direct activities that will advance the mission of the Initiative.
