Job Description Apex CoVantage is looking for Electric Meter Installers in the Central Vermont Public Service territories. We are looking for highly-motivated, driven individuals willing to perform at a high level in the area of safety, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
Hazard recognition, checking the existing meter, testing voltage and replacing with a new digital meter.
Receiving and transferring meters at beginning and end of shift.
Accurately collect customer data and record information in a Windows-based handheld.
Physical ability to work in the environment to include: walking, climbing, and stooping up to 10 hours per day in all types of weather conditions.
Customer service/communication
Required Education & Experience
Previous electrical meter installation or meter reading experience
or
Knowledge of the principles of electricity either though a formal training program or previous employment
and
Must be able to pass company training certifications and meter reading test
Must have valid Driver's License
Must be detail oriented, have good verbal skills and a neat/clean appearance
Must be comfortable interacting with customers and quality oriented
Must have the ability to use assigned tools properly and work within safety guidelines
Self-motivated, ability to work with little supervision
Must have high degree of integrity
Regularly be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Must have required tools or willing to purchase to complete contract responsibilities
Individual must provide a vehicle in good working order
Must be able to provide proof of a minimum of $300,000.00 of liability insurance on this vehicle
Must pass drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Electrical Meter installation or electrical background
Knowledge of the principles of electricity, electrical metering, and electric service requirements
